Welcome to The Words to Live By Creative Wellbeing Studio
The Words to Live By Creative Wellbeing Studio is a supportive, creative home for anyone who wants to explore how writing can nurture, steady and strengthen them.
Whether you’re new to writing, quietly curious or returning to a voice you haven’t used in a while, this is a space where you can build a practice that genuinely supports your wellbeing — at your own pace, in your own way.
You’re welcome here exactly as you are.
You can join one pathway or explore all three, depending on what you need right now.
The Personal Pathway
A reflective space for writing towards clarity, self-understanding and emotional balance.
Each week you’ll receive thoughtful resources to guide your practice. Once a month, we gather for a gentle community sharing session — an open mic space where you can read your work (if you’d like to) and connect with others who are writing alongside you.
This pathway isn’t about “doing it right.” It’s about discovering what writing can offer you.
The Poets’ Pathway
For those drawn to poetry as a way of paying attention and making meaning.
Through carefully designed prompts, readings and craft-focused exercises, you’ll explore imagery, rhythm, structure and editing — learning how to shape raw drafts into work that feels true and considered.
Monthly workshops offer supportive, constructive feedback in a space that honours both craft and vulnerability.
Whether you’re experienced or just beginning, this is a place to take your poetry seriously — without taking yourself too seriously.
COMING SOON…. The Practitioners’ Pathway
Created for practitioners, space-holders, educators, therapists, coaches — and anyone interested in strengthening their inner resources.
This pathway combines reflective writing, discussion and practical exercises to support sustainable self-care. Monthly meetups focus on grounded tools, embodied check-ins and thoughtful peer conversation.
It’s a space to replenish, reflect and remember that you need care too.
If you’re keen to learn more about the Practitioners’ Pathway, email us at info@the-word-association.com to express your interest.

Subscribe to one pathway and then email us info@the-word-association.com to tell us which other pathway(s) you’d like to join and we’ll send you the discount codes.
Why join multiple pathways?
The Personal Pathway: Supports your own wellbeing and self-care
The Poets’ Pathway: Focuses on refining poetic technique and form
The Practitioners’ Pathway: Builds resilience and therapeutic writing skills for those who hold space for others
Each month, all pathways share a common theme, helping you connect across the studio and share a collective focus.
Inclusion in the Anthology
Every six months, we publish a community anthology. Anyone subscribed (to any pathway) for the duration of either publishing period (Apr–Oct and Oct–Apr) is invited to submit work.
We encourage you to submit your work as it is, though we may suggest edits in some cases. Work that is harmful, libellous or could be interpreted as hate speech will not be included.
Copies of the anthology:
All participants receive 2 free copies (postage & packing applies).
Additional copies for friends/family can be pre-ordered in advance.
Local Worcester drop-off may be available.
Community Circles & Writing Hours
We know people love self-led creative tools, but also value connection. Our circles and writing hours offer both.
Community Circles:
The Personal Pathway: Open mic style—share your work with a gentle, supportive audience
The Poets’ Pathway: Workshop your poems; selected pieces will be discussed with constructive feedback
The Practitioners’ Pathway: Connect with peers, share experiences, and try guided resilience exercises
Weekly Writing Hours:
One hour per week (term time) via Zoom.
Silent, focused writing time for all pathways.
Optional use of the chat function for sharing progress, inspiration or prompts.
Prompts & Monthly Themes
Each pathway has its own goals, but every month shares a central theme or “lens.”
Prompts are available in audio and text
Follow the same rhythm and structure across pathways
Creates synergy in writing hours and anthologies
For Everyone

Fantastic! Each cycle has fresh prompts, new approaches and familiar faces in the circles and writing hours.
I’m new to The Word Association or creative writing:
Welcome! Resources are suitable for newcomers, and facilitation is gentle and inclusive.
I’m an experienced writer:
Absolutely. Whether you want therapeutic space, workshops or structured poetic exploration, you’ll find a supportive environment here.
I’m new to any form of creative writing:
Perfect! Go at your own pace. We offer glossaries, crib sheets for poetic forms and lots of examples to inspire you.
